It wouldn’t be a festive Thanksgiving without a little snow, right?!
The snow is great… but not when you plan to travel 5 hours to Ithaca for Thanksgiving. In an attempt to beat the snow storm, the alarm was set for a glorious 4am and off to Ithaca it was. I can confidently say it was the fastest ride to and I was the worst co-pilot.
Lets just say that 5am cup of coffee DID NOT work its magic.
We JUST beat the snow and enjoyed a cozy afternoon inside. Except for a short trip to Dick’s to get a new pair of snow boots…and maybe another pair of Asic running shoes.
After yesterday’s morning run and afternoon Crossfit workout, the rest day was much-needed. Sometimes you just need to be epically lazy. And with laziness comes anticipation for a great workout. It is safe to say that I am ready and excited to get out and go for my first snowy long run in Ithaca tomorrow morning :)…and if I survive the snow, I have a feeling I am going to be spending the afternoon doing the whole hunting thing before a glorious Thanksgiving dinner.
I also have a feeling I am going to be dragging someone to the BEST froyo place in Ithaca. After some casual researching, I found out that since the froyo place is in a mall, it opens at the same time as the mall…which is 6pm…just about time for dessert, am I right?!
I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving and enjoys everything the day has to offer. If you are running a Thanksgiving race.. GOOD LUCK and be thankful that you have the opportunity to be healthy and strong enough to run….It sure is something to be thankful for. Take a moment throughout the fun-filled and busy day to take it all in and reflect on just how lucky you are to be you.
